the design of the first 'defend the beaches' mission how obnoxiously ...meta... the iron tide been rolling over all of europe ? that sure as fk dont happen over an afternon so hospital at a spot that not only be exceptionally exposed to the enviroment but also more or lees be like parking a truck with medical supplies and a 'help yourself' sign for invaders on the beach ? , ye right fking ''distract the player with janitor and squad tasks to hide the fireworks is just fireworks'' , instead of having actual larger scale WAR SCALE mechanics pff , even old school limited 90's rts is better

37:00 what I found interesting about this mission, is (At least in version 1 of the game) if you capture the alien refiniries at the bottom right of the map, the game gives you 80,000 credits per refinery capture (And doing it with the harvester unloading means you also capture the harvester which is nice) These credits essentially trivialise the mission

17:00 I feel like they really should have designed this mission a different way, unless they really did intend for us to just freeze the car and your main objective is not having his car be destroyed by the planes they send at you as when they die they crash land and kill him. Its the only mission I feel that planes dying and doing damage when they land is even noticeable. I love how its supposed to give you mirage tanks and turn on the heads over time, when you can just keep all the heads offline and just destroy a single building and win. Always felt so out of place just after doing an intense mission against long range battleships and nearly the entire Empire arsenal. A really easy but fun mission. Though just more showing of how overpowered the cryo copters are, because yes they are unbalanced in multiplayer, even funnier is after building some you just send your mcv into the enemy base to crush everything, just like the Empire's buildings, which can be crushed soon after exiting their mcv preventing Empire from being able to build buildings

Having Yuri assassinate Boris early of the war is a *chef kiss* in the lore perspective. Even though the mysterious background in RA2, in Mental Omega, he was a field commander, elite commando and war hero at the same time, which it seems that even the Soviet General has to listen to his advice. The ability to command from the front of Boris with the strategic prowess of the Soviet Commander will lead to the unbearable threat to his Psicorp as the war on America will end too early before his psychic beacon can be shine.

The narrator sounds like the ones in starcraft 2 patch explanation videos from blizzard. These mental omega story explanations are helpful for clearing out misconceptions that players think about the missions, and what they missed when not paying attention to texts inside the missions. I myself am a mental omega player. And I like modifying missions and making missions for pleasures.

It would be spectacular if the mod explained the story with the same luxury of detail as this video, and also those fan arts are exquisite

You could have captured the psychic beacon in Free Gateway which I think I did a couple times and it just ends the mission as you now control everyone. You can also bypass all of the Last Chance by sailing your destroyers up to the beacon and destroying it without building a base.

Helpful tips for ya, Psymin! You could throw the actors into the battle fortresses in mission 2 by the way, they can still fight for ya in that manner! It also gets rid of any agro against the actors. In mission 3, you are meant to use the weather control device on the Bio-Reactors above the nuke silo in order to get rid its main power, then capture the nearest tech power plant to freeze its timer. doing so probably would have saved you valuable time and prevented the nuke from being launched. (I had to edit this multiple times, sorry bout that.)
